Colenso BBDO has promoted senior planner Andy McLeish to fill the planning director role left vacant by James Hurman. McLeish joined Colenso 18 months ago from Whybin\TBWA Auckland, and for the past month has been acting planning director.

At Whybin, McLeish was the senior strategic planner working with ASB, Sovereign Insurance, TRN Adidas and Mercury Energy. Before that, he had a 15-year career on the client side, including acting head of marketing at NZ Lotteries.

“Andy’s appointment highlights the depth of talent within the agency,” said md Nick Garrett. “He has an impressive background and has proven to be a huge asset to Colenso over the past 18 months, so he was an obvious choice for the planning director role.”
