For the third time in a row, Auckland animation house Cirkus will be hosting workshops at next month’s Cannes Lions.
There’s two, both on Sunday 17 June. The first runs 12.30pm-1.30pm, the second from 5pm-6pm. They both aim to get participants to create their own puppeterring/miniature/stopmotion spot.
Cirkus will provide a basic brief, a product and its benefits, and put participants in a team to ignite their ‘do it not the same thinking’ – using a smartphone or tablet, each team will capture their short commercial “guerrilla-style”, and Cirkus will bring the footage into the Cirkus computers and put it all together.
By visiting the Cirkus stand, and adding Cirkus as a Facebook friend, participants can check and comment on the WIPs and the final work.
“The Cirkus artists will perform their magic on your handiwork with visual trickery and sound,” says Cirkus’s Felicia Brunsting. “Get back to the very basics of storytelling and production.
