Powerade is leveraging its partnership with the London Olympics with the Powerade Challenge 2012 where budding sportspeople can time themselves over a marked running course in Auckland (9km) or Wellington (8km).
Runners wear a digital wristband which they swipe at kiosks en route to record their times. These are posted online to be compared against top Kiwi athletes – including Hamish Carter, Nathan Twaddle, Ali Shanks, and Moss Burmeister. An online leaderboard shows participants’ rankings.
