Newspaper Ad Awards – an apology

In yesterday’s hard-copy Fastline, we ran – in error – an ad that warned the deadline for the $10,000 Newspaper Ad of the Year is “tomorrow” (Friday).

The correct date for the awards is Friday 13 July – meaning there’s still a clear two weeks left to get your entry in. The original error occurred during the editing process.

There are big changes this year: The Newspaper Ad of the Year is becoming the Newspaper Advertising Awards, but it’s more than just a name change. While there’s still the Ad of the Year award (and the $10,000 prize), it’s now one of seven award categories …

 

 

THE $10,000 NEWSPAPER AD OF THE YEAR

The big prize of the night. What are the judges looking for? Quite simply – the best Newspaper Ad of the Year. Any shape or size – it just has to be the best.

 

BEST MEDIA THINKING

A unique media judging panel is looking for an idea that has clever media thinking at its core. Each entry must be supported with a short summary that needs to cover your media thinking and approach (max 150 words). The judges are looking for great media thinking, innovation and great creative.

 

BEST CRAFT – ART

This category recognises the best use of typography, illustration, image or overall art direction craft in Newspaper advertising.

 

BEST CRAFT – COPY

This category recognises the best use of copywriting in Newspaper advertising.

 

BEST DIGITAL

This category recognises the best use of Newspaper's digital assets.

 

BEST TOPICAL

Newspaper is an immediate medium. This category recognises the best use of that unique property.

 

BEST BRAND – A JUDGES' CHOICE CATEGORY

This category celebrates the brand in New Zealand that uses Newspaper in the best possible way to maximum effect.
