Metro magazine has appointed a former Mojo art director/designer as its new art director. She is Delaney Tabron, the founder and creative director of contemporary culture magazine No, art director at Pavement, and until recently a lecturer in design at AUT.
“We’re thrilled to have Delaney join our team,” said Metro editor Simon Wilson. “When the vacancy arose, we went looking for an exciting graphic designer who likes to push out the boundaries, who has great creative vision, who loves magazines and who knows what makes this city tick. I don’t think anyone fits that description better than Delaney.”
“We’ve overhauled Metro pretty thoroughly in the last couple of years,” said Wilson. “Most of the writers are new, and we’ve got a stronger focus on lifestyle areas like food and fashion, as well as politics, satire and the arts.
“We are also committed to great photography and original artwork. Delaney is an expert at mixing classic graphic design with a contemporary edge and I expect she will make an invaluable contribution to the process of creating a great city magazine.”
